Belt conveyor particulars
Belt conveyor is a device intended for use in industrial enterprises and providing stop-less cargoes transfer within one factory or one workshop. Its main part is conveyor belt. It represents a sheeting, which thickness and length vary depending on specific of an enterprise, wherein belt conveyor is used.
Types
Belt conveyor structure can vary. The most common of them are:
- Direct: it is based on the belt made of flexible material with rollers supporting two branches, operating and non-operating. Max. productivity of such conveyors reaches 25 thousand t/hour.
- Channel-shaped: it is based on roller support, channel-shaped and made of profile (galvanized aluminium or steel). It used in power engineering, heavy and light mechanic engineering, wood-working industry, mining, construction, as well as for waste sorting.
- Inclined: it is intended to transfer goods in inclined plane; inclination angle is adjusted. It is used to transfer bulk loads in warehouses and industrial enterprises. It is capable of operating both in workshop and on open terrain.
- Rotary (screw conveyor): its particular is available torque transfer option. It is often used in bakery.
- Telescopic: it provides an opportunity of changing the length and inclination angle in operating condition. It is used to transfer bulk loads on ships.
There are also combined conveyors fitted with both inclined and direct surfaces. They are used in enterprises with limited free space, where no other machinery can be installed.
Marking
Each belt conveyor is fitted with special marks containing information on basic characteristics of a machinery. Marking of conveyors manufactured in Russia and abroad is slightly different but it, in any case, contains the following data on a product:
- Type
- lining (operating and non-operating) thickness
- sheeting width
- fabric type
- heat- and cold resistance classes
- Load capacity.
Belt conveyor can operate at -50 ...+45. It is impossible to replace at large load flows, therefore, it is used in different activities, from food production to mining industry.
